Swebor 400 & 500 is used to endure conditions of heavy wear and when great trength and good weld ability is required. Swebor 400 is used in applications such as loader buckets, mining truck bodies, wearing parts of agricultural machines, wearing parts of mining machines, waste removal equipment and cement trucks, wear plates, where demands on wear resistance are high. Hardness Quard get its high hardness and strength through a precise water quenching process.
The hardness is mainly controlled by the carbon content and by using accurate alloy compositions the scatter in hardness and other properties can be kept to a minimun.
The production process of Quard produces a lath type of martensitic structure of high hardness, strength and toughness, granting 100% through thickness hardening.
